4th Annual Hanging with the Heroes was a success!

At this year’s 4th annual Hanging with the Heroes fundraiser on Saturday, April 22, 2017, we raised $47,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for life in pre-advanced ticket sales and corporate sponsorships.

With 245 people in attendance, it was an awesome night filled with lots of fun, great food, and amazing entertainment for a wonderful cause.

To date, through hard work and dedication, Helfner’s Heroes has raised a total of $61,000 in total for 2017 for the fight against cancer. Of that amount, $14,000 was earmarked specifically to the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

This year we chose to raise funds for two very worthy organizations on the front lines of battling cancer. This year became more personal for Dr. Helfner and Mike Wagenberg of Driftwood Day Camp. A close friend of theirs, Neil Aranoff, lost his mother to cancer in 2016. To honor the memory of Sandy Aranoff, the team chose to donate the proceeds of the raffle sales to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a preeminent international cancer research institution, based on Long Island.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a cause that we hold near and dear to our heart. It helps to fund groundbreaking cancer research, preventative initiatives, education, and critical patient care services.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 4th Annual Hanging with the Heroes as well as those who sponsored the cause. Since our initial involvement with Commack’s Relay For Life, Team Helfner’s Heroes has raised over $125,000 in the fight against cancer!!! We could not have accomplished what we’ve done without your help.
