Helfner has passed down her extensive knowledge by volunteering to give dental presentations to students, too! A skilled and kind-hearted dentist, indeed. 2017: Long Islanders Voted Dr. Bonnie Helfner Best Dentist!

Bonnie Helfner DDS is proud to announce that we’ve once again been nominated in the Bethpage Best of Long Island contest for both the “Best Dentist” and “Best Cosmetic Dentist” categories! Bonnie Helfner DDS, located in Commack, New York, has been serving the Long Island community for over 20 years. Being nominated for such a prestigious honor is something that we hold in the highest regard. It is a testament to our excellent staff and supportive patients who have provided us with frequent success throughout the years, including previous Best of Long Island awards in 2013, 2014, and 2017.

Finding a trustworthy and comforting dental practice can sometimes be a challenge. Both Dr. Helfner and Dr. Curro have worked hard to give their patients the results they want without the discomfort. Bonnie Helfner DDS has been the go-to dentist office in the Commack area for many years. A vote for her ensures the opportunity to change the lives and happiness of even more patients.

Dr. Bonnie Helfner graduated from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1994. During her senior year, she was awarded the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy Award, presented to an outstanding student for exhibiting leadership, excelling in the clinical aspects of dentistry, and academically attaining superior grades. Upon graduation, Dr. Helfner went on to complete a General Practice Residency program at Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Northport, NY. In conjunction with her residency, Dr. Helfner also completed an emergency dental training at the University Hospital Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY. Upon successful completion of her residency program, Dr. Helfner opened her own office in Commack in 1997.

In addition to Dr. Helfner, Dr. Kristin Curro is a dentist on staff. Dr. Curro attended college at Boston College and Dental School at Stony Brook University where she graduated first in her class. Dr. Curro completed her residency at North Shore Hospital.

Dr. Helfner and Dr. Curro make giving back to the community a priority through various charitable events, such as our annual Hanging with the Heroes fundraiser which in total has raised over $110,000 for the American Cancer Society. We also celebrated our 20th anniversary with Patient Appreciation Day, which was a day filled with fun and laughter spent with our amazing patients. With their impressive background and patient reviews, it is no wonder we have been nominated again!
