It is our great pleasure to introduce our newest team member, Dr. Jennifer Rubin. It is particularly special because of the bond that Dr. Helfner has had with Dr. Rubin for over a decade. Not only did they attend dental school in Buffalo together, they also worked with one another in private practice during the late 90’s. Dr. Helfner is overjoyed to be working along side her yet again.
Education Background
Dr. Rubin, a Long Beach, NY native, earned her bachelors degree in the biological sciences in 1992 from S.U.N.Y. at Binghamton. She then went on to dental school in Buffalo and received her degree from the State University of New York School of Dental Medicine in 1996. Immediately following dental school she continued her professional education in Philadelphia where she was accepted in a very prestigious residency program at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Her residency allowed her to expand her understanding and abilities in the dental health field to better treat her patients. During her residency she was asked to teach at New York University Dental School, which she did until she moved back to Long Island.
Professional Involvement
Dr. Rubin has joined and participated in the Female Dental Academy of L.I., Alpha Omega Dental Organization, Suffolk County Dental Society and the American Dental Association. Most recently she completed her certification in conscious sedation and became a member of Doctors of Conscious Sedation. In addition, Dr. Rubin is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Family
In addition to her professional life, Dr. Rubin is married to David, a certified public accountant on Long Island. As if practicing dentistry is not challenging enough, she and David are parents of triplets, Samantha, Benjamin, and Jacob. Jennifer Rubin is involved with the Plainview Old Bethpage PTA and sits on the board of the districts Health and Nutrition Committee.
When Dr. Rubin isn’t practicing dentistry, being a mom and wife, she enjoys training and participating in local triathlons.
